Description of the Program:

The training objects of the specialty include foreigners or oversea Chinese who have completed high school education or above and whose native language is not Chinese. The purpose is to cultivate trained personnel for Chinese language with excellent comprehensive quality to meet the demands of international society in contemporary era. With the tenet of combining knowledge with practice in teaching, the specialty offers main courses of Chinese Language, Business and Chinese Social Culture to let students grasp the basic knowledge and basic skills of Chinese Language and Business Chinese, be familiar with Chinese economy and social culture, comprehend the techniques and skill for business communication and cultivate modern interdisciplinary talents who are competent for international trade, tourism and cultural communication.

Undergraduate Program in Chinese(Business Chinese)

I.       Training Target

The training objects of the specialty include foreigners or oversea Chinese who have completed high school education or above and whose native language is not Chinese. The purpose is to cultivate trained personnel for Chinese language with excellent comprehensive quality to meet the demands of international society in contemporary era. With the tenet of combining knowledge with practice in teaching, the specialty offers main courses of Chinese Language, Business and Chinese Social Culture to let students grasp the basic knowledge and basic skills of Chinese Language and Business Chinese, be familiar with Chinese economy and social culture, comprehend the techniques and skill for business communication and cultivate modern interdisciplinary talents who are competent for international trade, tourism and cultural communication.

II.     Training Standards

1. Be provided with solid skills in Chinese language and communication, with relative strong professional skill in Chinese speaking, reading, listening and writing.

2. Symmetrically comprehend basic knowledge of Chinese and business Chinese, be provided necessary special knowledge for economy and trade;

3. Comprehend the basic knowledge of Chinese humanism; be familiar with Chinese business culture; have a comprehensive understanding of Chinese society, politics, economy, history and culture; be familiar with Chinese national condition and economic policies.

4. Be qualified for cross-cultural communication and be proficient in applying Chinese in commercial activities and economic and trade cooperation.

Comprehensive Chinese, Oral Chinese, Chinese Listening, Chinese Reading, Chinese Handwriting, Chinese Writing, Comprehensive Business Chinese, Oral Business Chinese, Written Business Chinese, Business Chinese Video-Aural-Oral, Business News Reading, Brief Introduction of China, Economic Profile of Contemporary China, Principles of Economics and Practice of International Trade

IV. Main Practical Programs                    

Practical programs mainly include reading report, graduation field work and graduation thesis

V. Length of Schooling, Degree and Credit Requirements                

1. Length of schooling: the length of schooling is flexible, generally four years for undergraduates with maximum of no more than 6 years. Graduation one year in advance is allowed.

2. Degree conferred: students will be conferred Bachelor of Arts after graduation

3. Requirements of credit: 128 credits

4. Pass New HSK Band 5

         

VI. Curriculum Design and Credit Distributions

1. Curriculum Design: There are two categories of courses, i.e. basic courses and oriented courses. Graduation field work and graduation thesis accounts for 4 credits and 6 credits respectively. The minimum credits of 128 is required
